Trainer/roller “spin” classes to run through April

From this:

to this?!

OCBC has held a few races in our day, but they usually involved Micro bikes or some other silly thing; so to broaden our horizons — as promised at our Winter Cyclebration — we are very pleased to announce a re-kindling of our long-time partnership with the Cleveland Velodrome.

To begin with, starting this Tuesday OCBC will turn our prep room (pictured above during its 2015 renovation) into a pop-up spinning studio for velodrome members, our volunteers (and you!) to get some pre-season conditioning in.  Here’s their invite:

Hello Ohio City Bicycle Co-Op Friends!

We have an exciting opportunity for you this winter:  Spring into the new season with our trainer sessions at the Ohio City Bicycle Co-Op

OCBC has been a long time friend & partner of the Velodrome and we’re offering them a warm place to train together with friends and teammates alike.  Beginning on Tuesday 2/20 we will be hosting 60 minute trainer sessions immediately followed by 30 minutes of stretching & Yoga tailored for cyclists.  While the trainer portion of the begins at 6:30pm, folks are encouraged to show up anytime after 6pm (or even a bit before that, if you’ve never been to OCBC and want to check it out – let’s just say they love bikes as much you do).  The bike workouts will be instructed by National Caliber Cyclists like Paul Martin and Matthew Weeks.

Afterwards camaraderie will commence right around the corner at Brick and Barrel. OCBC is located at 1840 Columbus Rd. and directions can be found at this link.  The OCBC entrance and parking is in the back of the building, near 1777 Merwin Ave. Just make a right near the end of the street before you get to the Merwin’s Wharf parking lot.

Trainer sessions are open to the public, but FREE for Cleveland Velodrome Members, and OCBC volunteers can use their credits for the sessions.  Members of Cleveland Velodrome Affiliate Teams get 20% off ($8 per class instead of $10).  Proceeds from the classes and donations support Cleveland Velodrome youth racing programs and OCBC bike education work.  So grab your bike, trainer, Yoga mat (and maybe a friend) and come join us on Tuesday nights!

**As an added BONUS: those of you attending the Inaugural Velodrome Trainer Session at OCBC on Tues 2/20 are invited to join us afterwards at Now That’s Class to see fellow cyclists performing in D-503.  Details here!

We look forward to a great time at these events — and a stronger 2018 season because of this collaboration — so we hope to see you there!
