Erik telling givecamp about OCBC’s mission

GiveCamp is a weekend-long event where software developers, designers, database administrators, project managers and creative professionals donate their time to create software and web-based applications for non-profit organizations. The event takes place at the LeanDog Boat (former Hornblowers) and Burke Lakefront Airport on the shores of Lake Erie.

The Volunteers at givecamp helped the OCBC to develop some new time tracking techniques to help us better record volunteer totals, hours given in the community, classes taken… really anything we do with volunteers. Now, we can better measure our effectiveness, calibrate our weaknesses, and show people in the community how much of an impact we make

And wait! there is more! The Ohio City Bicycle Co-op was one of four nonprofits to be recognized in the 3rd annual donation from the Craze eCool fund! Andrew Craze loved volunteering at give camp, and loved life, and was taken from this world to soon. To keep his energy alive his wife Jane Winik and friend Bob Coppedge give a donation to nonprofits at give camp that they think Andrew would have thought were “really cool”.

Please check out givecamp to learn more or find out how you can participate!
