OCBC is seeking an experienced bicycle mechanic for a full time position to help teach and train volunteers in bike repair, assist shop users with their own repairs, and complete refurbished bikes to sell in our retail space. Salary will be commensurate with experience, but competitive with retail bike shop work, with flextime for holidays and full health coverage (after a 90 day probationary period).
Prior professional bike mechanic experience is required.
This position will also require:
- all the skills needed in a small retail bike shop
- customer service skills
- cash handling skills
- product knowledge
- teaching experience and/or education, or significant training and/or experience in other one-on-one or small-group instruction settings.
- Ability to staff our biweekly “Bicycling and Diversity Alliance: Safe Space (BADASS)” group (our Women/Trans/Fem shop time)
