We now require a quick, in-person orientation session to make sure everyone understands the basic of how the co-op works before they begin working here (whether Volunteering, or using their Membership to work on their own bike). If you'd just like to learn about the co-op first in a more informal way, you can join our Saturday Social Ride; or stop in during retail hours (but we're often very busy with customers then).

Volunteer/member orientations last about an hour, and are held every at 7pm every Thursday from March - Oct. (or Wednesday in the winter -- see our calendar for an up-to-date schedule). No appointment is needed, just drop in. You'll join a group of new volunteers (usually 5 - 10 folks) to meet with a co-op staff or key volunteer and take a tour to learn your way around, and you can start volunteering for an hour right afterwards, if you wish.

To get oriented for your orientation, please take a look at the Volunteering and Membership pages, and take this short bike safety quiz.  You also may want to look at the shop manual on our wiki, which describes many of the things which volunteers do.  If you are interested in taking (or testing out of) the membership classes, the curriculum is on the wiki as well.

Finally, you can read our non-discrimination policy here; we look forward to seeing you some Thursday evening -- whatever your choice of drivetrain!
