Help realize Dave’s vision: come fix bikes to be awarded to Euclid kids and adult “necessity” cyclists at bike education events in March.
Dave Lawrence, probably on an OCBC Sat. Social ride in 2016
Dave was a generous mentor, a compassionate leader, and a dedicated friend of cycling. The Dave Lawrence Bike Legacy project will repair bikes he collected (after he took the OCBC Shop Class series, and joined our Board of Directors) to help folks in his hometown of Euclid Ohio to get around, and enjoy the freedom and independence that cycling brings.
Please join us at OCBC on Sunday Feb. 25th anytime from noon to 5pm (for at least an hour) for a DLBL Fixathon at OCBC, to get one step (and about 50 repaired bikes) closer to that goal.
Please RSVP here so we know how much food to have!
No experience needed; we’ll train anyone on useful tasks to ready these bikes to award (with a new helmet and lock) at events where Euclid kids and adult necessity cyclists can earn a bike by learning basic bike safety strategies.
We’ll also be enlisting volunteers to help with those Bike Rodeo events, which, under the guidelines of an Engage Euclid grant, must take place before March 31st.
The first place to do that will be at the Bike Euclid Meet and Greet on Sat. March 3 5pm. We hope to see you — especially any Euclid residents — at either or both of these events. Reply to this email if you need further info not found in the the above links.
