A free, on-line, self-paced course of reading and videos, covering everything from your first pedal stroke, to the last thing you should do after getting off your bike.
This course cover the mechanical things every cyclist should know; so it’s the first education everyone should take at OCBC; especially, for experienced cyclists, to learn how we present them in the simplest terms, so you can help others volunteering at OCBC (or anywhere you may be seen as “the bike expert” by less-experienced cyclists).
Plus, the safe-riding topics you’ll learn here will (optionally) qualify you for a Smart Cycling Certificate after completing an in-person review, ride, and test session held at OCBC each month from March through November. Whether you want that certificate or not, this casual, 3-hour group ride and knowledge-sharing will prepare you for riding in all kinds of environments:
