Pay What You Can Program

The Ohio City Bicycle Co-op believes everyone should have access to bicycles for transportation, health, and joy. Our Pay What You Can (PWYC) program helps people with financial challenges obtain and repair bicycles for adults and children. We also provide essential accessories such as helmets, locks, and lights. 

The PWYC program supports our organization’s values of service, community, and skill building. Individuals receiving bikes with financial assistance often return to work with us through our volunteer program.

In 2023:

• We gave $18,275.37 in refurbished bikes, accessories, and repairs, serving 55 customers.
• 35 bicycle purchases received PWYC assistance (compared to 22 for 2022!)
• 20% of our adult bicycle sales utilized PWYC funds.
• 8 bike repairs received PWYC assistance.
